Original

Una tristezza cosý
non la sentivo da mai,
ma poi la banda arriv˛
e allora tutto pass˛.
Volevo dire di no
quando la banda pass˛
ma il mio ragazzo era lý
e allora dissi di si.

E una ragazza che era triste
sorrise all'amor
ed una rosa che era chiusa
di colpo sbocci˛
ed una frotta
di bambini festosi
si mise a suonare
come fa la banda.

E un uomo serio il suo cappello
per aria lanci˛,
ferm˛ una donna che passava
e poi la baci˛.
Dalle finestre
quanta gente spunt˛
quando la banda pass˛
cantando cose d'amor.

Quando la banda pass˛
nel cielo il sole spunt˛
e il mio ragazzo era lÓ
na na na na na na na.
La banda suona per noi,
la banda suona per voi,
la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la.

E tanta gente dai portoni
cantando sbuc˛
e tanta gente in ogni vicolo
si rivers˛
e per la strada
quella povera gente
marciava felice
dietro la sua banda.

Se c'era un uomo che piangeva,
sorrise perchŔ
sembrava proprio che la banda
suonasse per lui.
In ogni cuore
la speranza spunt˛
quando la banda pass˛
cantando cose d'amor.

La banda suona per noi,
la banda suona per voi,
la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la.

Translation

I've never felt
such a sadness,
but then the marching band has arrived
and everything went away.
I wanted to tell no,
when the marching band has passed,
but my boyfriend was there
and so I've said yes.

And a girl,
who was sad,
smiled to the love
and a rose,
which was closed, suddenly opened.
And a lot of happy
kids started playing,
as the marching band does.

And a serious man
threw in the air his hat,
he stopped a woman,
who was walking, and kissed her.
A lot of people appeared
at the window
when the marching band has passed,
singing love stuff.

When the marching band has passed,
the sun rised in the sky,
my boyfriend was there
na na na na na na na.
The marching band plays for us.
the marching band plays for you all
la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la.

And a lot of people
showed up singing at the doors
and a lot of people
poured
into the streets.
That poor people
was marching happily
behind the marching band.

If there was a crying man,
he smiled, because
it exactly looked like
as if the marching band was playing for him.
The hope showed up
in each heart
when the marching band has passed,
singing love stuff.

The marching band plays for us.
the marching band plays for you all
la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la.
